For the last six years, Sherri has been a shining part of the Compass community, known for her warm smile, contagious laugh, and the joyful energy she brings everywhere she goes.
Building a Life of Connection
A true social butterfly, Sherri thrives on connection. One of her biggest dreams has always been to grow her circle of support — and through dedication, courage, and her naturally outgoing spirit, she’s done just that. Today, Sherri is surrounded by people she can depend on, a roommate she loves, and a growing network of friends who admire her bright, loving heart. She also has a wonderful team of staff she trusts, who celebrate her and encourage her dreams and growth.
Finding Her Place and Purpose
A major milestone in Sherri’s journey has been joining a day program where she feels welcomed, engaged, and inspired. This new rhythm has helped her build routine, confidence, and meaningful friendships. Around the same time, she also found a church that instantly felt like home — a place where her faith has flourished and her sense of purpose has deepened.
Leading with Love
At church, Sherri has become a beloved and active member. Every Wednesday, she leads the children’s ministries — a role that brings out her silly, fun, and nurturing side. She takes great pride in guiding the kids with kindness and enthusiasm. Always looking for ways to serve, Sherri’s heart for others continues to shine through her faith community involvement.
Dreaming Forward
As Sherri reflects on how far she’s come, she’s also dreaming ahead. She hopes to find a job that helps her connect even more with her community — something that lets her grow, contribute, and shine. Another goal she’s pursuing is no longer being conserved — a powerful step toward greater independence and self-advocacy. Her progress is a testament to the strength she’s built and the belief she’s growing in herself.
