Since 2016, Nikole “Nikki” has been a beloved member of the Options/Compass community—and in that time, she has touched the hearts of everyone who knows her. With her warm spirit, deep friendships, and unwavering generosity, Nikki is a shining example of what it means to lead with love and a giving heart.
Friendship That Lasts a Lifetime
Nikki thrives in the community she’s built around her. She has a strong network of friends, including team members she considers family—one of whom has been by her side for over 20 years. Whether it’s a quick coffee outing, a lunch date, or a birthday celebration, Nikki always finds ways to show up for the people in her life.
A Spirit of Celebration
At a recent All Hands meeting, Nikki requested time to celebrate her team members’ birthdays, surprising them with small, thoughtful gifts. It’s moments like these that reveal the depth of Nikki’s heart—always thinking of others and spreading joy wherever she goes.
Finding Her Voice
Though Nikki is non-verbal, she communicates with clarity, strength, and emotion. During a recent meeting with a new service coordinator, Nikki noticed that the conversation was happening around her, rather than with her. Without hesitation, she spoke up and said, “I am right here, talk to me!” It was a powerful reminder that respect and inclusion are not just values—they are rights Nikki confidently advocates for.
Gratitude in Every Season
Earlier this year, Nikki faced a health scare that led to a brief hospital stay. It was a challenging time for her and her circle of support. Yet even in that vulnerable moment, Nikki’s first instinct was gratitude. She thanked everyone who showed up, comforted her, and supported her throughout the experience.
Joy in Simple Pleasures
Nikki finds joy in the simple pleasures—shopping, visiting casinos, spending time with friends, and nurturing her growing love of live plants, a new adventure made possible with the help of her supportive team.
