ILS Manager, Shasta County
I am currently an ILS Manager in our Redding office serving Shasta County. After spending 11 years working in the college bookstore industry I found I wanted something in a position where I could help people. Thus, I embarked on a path of working with individuals with disabilities. After working in residential care, and the local school system, I found Compass. It become more than just a job. I found that this is a company that truly values people. I found an organization where I could help individuals create dreams and live independently.
I came to Compass as a Life Coach in Siskiyou County when I moved up there to be with my now wife. I had never been a Life Coach but quickly fell in love with the opportunity and Compass itself. I loved working with my clients to help them realize that they can live independently and follow their dreams no matter how big or small they were.
I took a year off from Compass when my family moved out of the area and I spent that time working in a day program for adults with disabilities, which I feel really grew me as an individual and allowed me to experience another aspects of working with adults with disabilities.
I hold a BA in Liberal Arts Teaching from Simpson University which I feel helps me in much of what we do in the ILS department. We instruct and teach our clients that with the right tools, it is possible to live independently and lead successful lives on their own. I have found my passion and home. I look forward to the future as we continue to change the lives of individuals we serve each and every day.
Outside of Compass I am a husband to my wife Tara and a Father to my son Trent and my daughter Lily who have become as much part of the Compass family as I have. We currently reside in Chico where my wife is a special education teacher and I make the daily commute to the Redding office. I love what I do here and look forward to what the future brings. “Everything is awesome, when you are part of the team.” Words to live by!
